Jim Dennis is a renowned Bay Area based photographer whose work has spanned over thirty years. As a seasoned photographer who has become famous as a result of images taken of music legends, health and wellness, landscapes, nudes, and corporate entities Dennis’ work has been exhibited at national venues including: Kodak Gallery, Museum of Science and Industry, The Oakland Museum, and other national institutions. As an international photographer Jim Dennis has shot on location in Haiti, Mexico, the Caribbean, Hawaii, France, Italy, Britain, Bahamas, Brazil, Costa Rica and the Ivory Coast.
Corporate clients have included: Pacific Gas and Electric, American Airlines, City and County of San Francisco, San Francisco Unified School District, City of Oakland, Oakland Unified School District, World Savings Bank, KTVU-Channel 2, Port of Oakland, Oum & Company, Legal Aid for Children.
Starting his professional career in the 70’s with Eastman Kodak, Dennis photographed people and places across the world: The Taj Mahal in India; life in Morocco; cultural portraits in Turkey. He has also photographed the Indy 500, Grand Prix, and the Democratic National Convention. Jim studied under Ruth Bernhard and has taught photography during workshops and for academic institutions such as The Academy of Art College in San Francisco.
Presently, Jim Dennis is developing a series of nude images to illuminate the natural beauty of the human body in many forms. Jim’s images can be seen during open studios and exhibits to support non profit entities throughout 2012. Photo books of Jim Dennis’ work will be published towards the end of 2012.
